5.0 out of 5 stars 「伝説のあの人」の炎のような激闘の記録！, 2009/10/28
　著者はもちろん今バリバリ現役の方。しかし名著『コンテンポラリー・ダンス徹底ガイド』で日本のコンテンポラリー・ダンスの見通しを一変させてしまった「伝説の人」でもあります。本書では、世界中から日本の地方まで、著者が「自分の目で見ること」にこだわって連載してきたエッセイをまとめたもの。その数、20カ国以上！　『徹底ガイド』のときには、正直「こんなにたくさんの公演を一人で見られるのかしら!?」と思ったりしたのですが、確かに見てますね！。まさに「そこにダンスがある限り、どこでも乗越（ヤツ）はやってくる！」と帯に書かれているとおりです。
　しかもエッセイなので、ガイドよりもダンスへの愛情がとめどもなく炸裂しています。あるときは叱り、あるときは励まし、ダンサーを取り巻く社会・経済状況を何とかしたいという当事者意識が、痛いくらいに伝わってきます。
　その一方で、状況を冷静に分析し、日本のダンスの問題点、コンクールのあり方、そして舞踊評論はどうあるべきか等々の問題提起が鋭く迫ってきます。

　読み手をグイグイと引きこむ文章力で、笑いながら読んでいるうち、こちらの身体も熱くなってきます。ダンスに限らず、ドキリと胸に刺さるような文章があちこちにありますよ。
　こんなに真正面から「ダンスが好きだ！」と言ってくれる評論家がいる、ということは、ダンス界にとって、とても幸せなことだなあと思える一冊です。
