アドビのソフトを長年使っていますが、M&Aだったりハデな宣伝だったりとあまりテクノロジーを生み出す会社というイメージがありませんでした。が、それは違うということをこの本で実感。創立時期の話はPostScript誕生物語であり、とても面白く読めました。後半は創立記念誌にありがちな宣伝的な文章で、マクロメディア統合以前の苦しい時期とはいえ、あまりに展望が苦しい内容で残念。そこを差し引いてもアップルとの絡みなど、古いMacユーザーの方は楽しめる内容だと思う。

~adobeは2004年ソフトのバージョンをCSというものに変更して、アイコン等を今までのものと全く別のもに変更しました。この本は、CSになる前までのadobeの歩んできた道をとてもよくまとめています。
~~
まさしく、デジタルデザインの道具の変遷を見ることができるものです。これは、すべてのデザイナーや学生に見てもらいたいものです。今、使っている道具がどういう経緯、思想でできたのかを知ってもらいたいです。
photoshopのバージョン１を初めて使った時の事を思い出します。~
