antelopeさん、TMPGEncPlusのヘルプファイルの最後をよく見てください。
ヘルプファイルの方が、この本を参考に書かれているのです。
もちろん、有料版のソフトを購入し、ヘルプファイルを見てわかる人は
この本を買う必要はあまりない、ということは言えると思います。
ヘルプを探すのがめんどくさい、本の方がいい、と言う人は買ってもいいでしょう。

TMPGEncは、動画エンコードのツールとしてはとても優秀である。
評判を聞いて、使ってみよう、動画圧縮にチャレンジしてみようと
いう人には、このオフィシャルガイドはピッタリの本であろう。
ところがだ、私は以前からTMPGEncを使用していて、操作方法は
ほぼマスターしていた。だから、この本の初心者向け説明は

ほとんど無駄な情報であった。救いは、コラムである。動画圧縮に
ついての細かいノウハウが載っていてうれしい。もっと早く、使い始めに
買っていればお得な本だったのである。

ずっと動画編集で上手くいかなかったやり方が詳しく載ってて
とてもわかりやすく読みやすかったです。これからのバージョンアップ
を楽しみにしてます。
