おばけといっても、スーツにネクタイといつもどおりの姿の
おじいちゃん。夜になると、孫のエリックへ会いにきます。

ふたりは、おじいちゃんがこの世にわすれたという、
何かを一生懸命さがしはじめます。

おじいちゃんの突然の死をエリックが徐々に受け入れてい
く様子や、それを見守る両親のやさしさが伝わってきました。

日本の絵本では、死を扱うときにペットや動物を描いたものが
ほとんどなのにくらべ、海外では生身の人間を直接描いた良書が多い
ように思います。

　お葬式の後もおじいちゃんは天国へいけません。
何か忘れ物をした様子…。孫と一緒にその原因を探します。
人は死んでも何かを残します…決して死は恐くないことをこの本は教えてくれます♪

読んであげるのなら5歳ぐらいから、自分で読むなら小学校低学年から

エヴァ・エリクソンの絵がかわいい！おじいちゃんとの思い出を思い返す絵はとくに。子供は、身内の死ってのはどう受け入れていいか分からない。そんな体験をさっぱりと楽しく、そしてちょっと切なく絵本にしてあるのが良い。K・Ｆ・Ａａｋｅｏｓｎの作品はこれが初めて日本に紹介されたようなので、他にもこれから出されないかなーと期待してます！
