5.0 out of 5 stars ジェンダー（男女差）の無い物語の世界, 2003/8/16
　シリーズ５作目になる今回は少し成長したローワンが、シバの予言の詩を頼りに中間達と共に旅に出ます。そして、力を合わせて冒険を成し遂げ、村に平和を呼び戻すというパターンは、今回も同じです。大筋はわかっていても、ぐんぐんと物語の中へ読者を惹き込んでゆく展開や謎解きの面白さ、テンポの良さも変わっていません。

　そういった物語の面白さとは別に、全編を通じて語られている作者のジェンダーに対する意識も見逃せません。最初にこの本を読んだ時に、何か違和感を感じました。それは、登場人物が男性か女性かわかりにくい、というものでした。この本の世界では、役割や発言に男女差はありません。描写されている体格からでさえ判断がつきにくいほどです。特にこの５作目で、強い者だけが選ばれた世界も、弱い者だけが残った世界も、どちらも不完全なものであった事実が明らかになるくだりがあり、どういう個性の者もひとりひとりがその役割を果たす為にいるんだ・・と言う事が語られています。

　小学生くらいならごく当たり前に、大人の人にも難しい理屈抜きに、「男だから」「女だから」が、「あなただから」にスッと変わる本ではないでしょうか。

村の存亡をかけてローワンと仲間が魔の山への苦しい旅をするのですが一番のヒーローは何と言ってもバクシャー達でしょう。
欲にとらわれて自然界のバランスをくずしてしまうのはどんなに恐ろしいことか、また村人から怖れられているシバの背負っているものにもふれています。ローワンはずいぶん成長して優しさの中にも強さが加わりました。シリーズがまだ続くことを願っています。

１巻からずっと読んでるんですけど、ローワンの成長ぶりがとてもわかりました。意外なメンバーで、大きな恐ろしい敵に立ち向かうんですけど今までの敵より強大で途中、今回は無理なんじゃないかと思いました。でも、メンバーひとりひとりが自分のできることをやり、希望を捨てなかった結果、たくさんの大切なものが失われずにすみました。結果もわりと意外なものがあります。是非、読んで見てクダサイ！！はまります!(^^)!
