この本はすごい本だと思いました！！！
薬もゲイも自殺もセックスもエイズも出てきてもカテゴリはヤングアダルト。さすがアメリカです。。

素敵な装丁で、色とりどりの文字で書かれた短編集。
ドキドキ、すらすら読めました。短編集なので、もう終わりって感じ。
翻訳された本は苦手だったんですが、これは読みやすかったです。翻訳家の金原 瑞人さん（金原ひとみさんの父）が素晴らしいのかもしれません。
説明過多でもないのに、鮮明に頭の中に映像が浮かんできて、どこか幻想的で生々しい。

特に前半は、思春期前の少女期の雰囲気を上手く出していて、傷つきやすく陶酔しやすく、気まぐれで思いこみが激しくて、夢見がちなのに現実的な不安定期の生臭さ。そして、痛い感じ。
まさにこの本は少女そのものだと思う。

現代の問題などが詰め込まれ、でもどこか前向きに生を直視している。絶望感を抱きながらも、希望にあふれ。
この年でこんなに心に来たのだから、１０代の多感な年頃に読んでたらもっと影響を受けただろうと思う。
ただ、小学生にはちょっと、どぎついかもしれない。

クールな、強力なファンタジー。
儚く、もろく、幻想的なキラキラしてる青春時代。
全てが愛おしくて美しい、宝物のようなお話です。
２０歳の私でもこの本にはまりました。

学校の図書室で借りたんですけど、ドラッグとか普通に出てきてびっくりしました。でも、読みやすかったし、不思議な気持ちになれたし、そうだよなぁとか、そうゆーことある！とも思いました。ただ，１つひとつの話にはまってしまい、短編ということを忘れて、もうおわり？と感じてしまいました。
私は特にマンハッタンのドラゴンが面白いと思いました。

短編集なので、すらすらと読めてしまいました。とにかく、書き方、表現力が多彩で、素晴らしいの一言につきます。傷つきやすく、感受性の強い年頃の主人公たちが、目にするもの、耳にするもの、口にするもの、そんな一つひとつが繊細で泣かずにはいられませんでした。現代の諸問題もその中に盛り込まれていて、考えさせられる、勉強になる一冊でもあり、わたしが出会った最高の作品です。
