「こそあどの森」シリーズの第一作。一人で本を読んだり、空想することが好きで、静かに暮らしているスキッパーの元にふしぎな木の実が送られて来たことから、その生活が少しずつ変化していきます。ハラハラドキドキというわけじゃないけれど、静かに雨が降る午後や冬の日の暖かい部屋の中で、一人静かにほっとした気持ちになりたい時に、何度でも読み返したくなる物語です。作者自身の挿絵も素敵です。登場人物其々の家の様子が精密だけど暖かいタッチで描かれていて、空想がふくらんでいきます。それから、次回作以降への伏線も・・・！

スキッパーは南の島で研究中のバーバさんより不思議な木の実と
その料理法の手紙をもらいます。
ところが配達途中に濡れた手紙はインクがにじんでいて読めません。
仕方なくスキッパーは、無口にもかかわらずその手紙の解読のため、
森の住人を訪ねることになりますが・・・。


以前ブックトークで紹介されていたのですが、
なるほど、面白い展開です。
スキッパーが訪ねる家も魅力的です。
最後に料理法が解明するのですが、とてもおいしそうですよ。

私がこの本と出会ったのは小学3年生のとき。
学校がお勧めの本として紹介していたので購入しました。

登場人物も皆個性豊かで1人1人が大好きになります。
読み終わったあとのあの温かい気持ちは中学3年生になった今でも忘れていません。

そのころから本を読むことに関心が高まり、今では本の無い生活なんて考えられません。

この本に出会えて本当に良かったです。
