最近、亀を衝動買いしたのですが、亀の事をよく知りませんでした。
そこで、この本を買ったのですが、へぇ~と頷く事が沢山載っていてこれなら亀を飼う事ができるなと感じました。
亀の環境から餌の与え方などをこの本から参考にしています。
ただ、亀の事をある程度知っている方にはお勧めできないかもしれませんね。

ちなみに参考にしているのは、緑亀の飼育です。

昔、ミドリガメをたくさん飼っていて、結局大きくなったのは2匹だったが、事情があって手放した（人にゆずった）ことがある。そのころでももうずっしりと重いくらいの大きさになっていた。ちゃんと人慣れして、自分の名前を呼ばれると顔をあげるのには驚いたものだ。

そのあと数年して書店で見つけて購入したのがこの本。なんと言ってもミシシッピーアカミミガメ（ミドリガメ）のアップのきりりとした顔がいい。この本は、1冊に陸生ガメも水生ガメも載っている。写真は豊富、種類も豊富、カメのいろいろな謎、育て方についても詳しい。時々開いては、「ああ、カメを飼いたい！！」と思うが、飼える環境にないので無理。せめて本を見て心なごむことにしている。
