何事にも先達はあらまほしきことかなという。そのわりに、マスメディアはエセ先達、ナンチャッテ先達があふれていて、情報の氾濫に輪をかけていたりもする。

この本は真の先達たちによって書かれている。その当時から現在に至るまで、しっかりと聴き込んだ人たちの、味わいある言葉で書かれている。

この本は、日本の1960年代後半からのフォークを、今、その気になれば聴くことのできるCDを示しつつ、それぞれの作品が、それぞれの歌い手が、それぞれの時点でどのように登場し、受け止められたのか。をしっかりと示してくれる。

日本のフォーク・・に、何かしら、ひっかかるものを感じる人。この一冊を手にとって、豊かで深く、そして荒々しく、一生モノのつきあいになるであろう歌と出会おう。

巻中の西岡たかし、早川義夫、中川五郎の鼎談は、圧巻です。
