　経済数学に関する本は色々と出ています。今回もオーソドックスな作りのテキストです。然し、内容は少し薄いような気がします。高校数学のレベルが落ちていることも考えれば、この程度から始めなければいけないのかと思います。高校の復習を兼ねて、新たに線形代数、解析学などを勉強するには良いと思います。大抵の経済数学の本はテクニックに走ってしまい、途中で挫折することが多いのですが、この本はそう言うことは無いです。この本を読んだ上で、ＡＣチャンの本を読めば、かなりの数学のセンスを磨くことが出来ると思います。数理経済学を専攻しないしない人もある程度は数式の罠を暴く意味でも読んでおいて損は無いと思います。

大学入試にて数学が必要だった学生には分かりやすいテキストだと思う。数学なしの私立文系受験生には難しいのではないかと思う。数学の最低限の基本が分かっている人向け。

『経済学・経営学のための数学』や『経済学のための数学入門』の方がすんなり入ってくると思う。
文の書き方、証明の仕方に戸惑い、図の少なさ、経済学的な概念が全くといっていいほど出てこないことに不満を感じた。
筆者は、厚い本にしたくなかったとのことだが、そんなことよりももっと段階を追った説明や図を使っての説明を増やした方がいいと思う。
