　彼は言う。「アートとは主観で作られ、デザインは客観で作られる。アートはあらゆる解釈を容認するが、デザインはたった一つの解釈のみを善しとする」

　どーです？厳しいじゃありませんか？アートは様々な解釈を任意に考察させるもので「考えるための装置」。デザインはコミュニケーションをさせるためのもので「対話の装置」。そもそも役割が違う、と言うんです。厳しいですね、とっても。

　だけど、それは正しい。そして僕らはその「正しさ」とあらゆる角度で戦わなければ仕事にならない。敢えて抽象性を求められる「デザイン」であったとしても、コミュニケーションとしての発露が明解になっていなければ意味がないのだから。

　
　この本は、優しい口調（文体）で書かれているが、厳しく感性を研磨し、技術力をつけるための足がかりである。たくさんの図版が掲載されているが、それは多様な反復による感性の研磨を求めている。この講義録が各国で出版されて４０年らしい（何と１９６８年の講義なんだわ！日本では初めての訳出だけど）。この講義を実際に聞いた若者は今、どうしているだろう？デザイナーになれたんだろうか？彼らは（彼女らは）僕の両親と同じくらいの年になっているはずだ。

　今年、ブルーノ・ムナリ生誕１００周年。

ファンタジアという本で創造の源泉は「組み合わせ」だとブルーノムナーリは主張している。この本はその組み合わせの基となる形体やテクスチャーのパターンを列挙してくれていて、美しさ・芸術ではなく正解を導くための技術を獲得するための知識を教えてくれる。素材集的な使い方ができ、さらにその素材の変形可能性も提示してくれている。モノの構造そのものの基本が揃っているので形体・テクスチャーのパターンが列挙されていると捉えて、とりあえずこの中からいくつかをピックアップして研究し組み合わせ自分なりの変化を加える方法をとれば面白いモノができるのではないだろうか。見ていていろんな発想に触れられるとても面白い本です。
