「毎日かあさん」のタイトルに反し、

今回の西原さんは、毎日母親ではありません。
誰の親でもない、女性としての西原さんが混じっています。

また、
「お金が無いのは首がないのと同じ」
と言う西原節が正しかったことを証明した巻でもあります。


自分をさらけ出す作風の、それだけしかできないと自認している西原さん。
鴨ちゃんとの事も、過去作品に何度となく描いていますから、
結婚、出産、離婚、出戻り、そして鴨ちゃんの死、
「何がどうしてどうなったか」過去作品と本巻でほとんど知ることが出来ます。
毎度の事で、照れからくる偽悪、露悪で鴨ちゃんをけちょんけちょんに罵った物がほとんどですが、
鴨ちゃんに抱く「あ」の付くアレは隠しきれておりません。

しかしながら、鴨ちゃん、ディフォルメ９０％としても、
西原作品では良く見かける「死んだら誰も悪う言わんから、早よう死ね」タイプの男性だったことも否定できず・・・

そんな鴨ちゃんを、子ども達の大好きなお父さんとして死なせてあげられたのも、
その死を悼み、後先考えず涙する事ができたのも、
西原さんが稼いだ「お金」あってこそ。

思えば西原さん、
お金が無いがために崩壊する家族、罵りあい、いがみ合う夫婦。
その中で傷つき悲しむ子どもを幾度と無く描いております。

ご自身の守銭奴ぶり、お金に対する執着も、偽悪を絡めて描きまくっております。

そこで描かれる西原さんのお金とは、こう言うものだったのだと、
標準的な現代日本人として、本当の貧困を知ることのない身にわからなかったものが、ようやくわかりました。

親が子どもを傷つけないで済むためのお金
愛情を育み、守るためのお金
愛する人を人として死なせてあげるためのお金

それがわかった途端、西原さんの悲しみ、そして恐らく抱いた安堵が伝わり、
ぽろりと涙がこぼれました。

西原理恵子さんは鴨志田氏が亡くなった時テレビのインタビューで「私はギャグ漫画家だからめったに笑わないんだけど彼は私を笑わせてくれたんです」と言って言葉を詰まらせていた。

その鴨氏とのお別れの時、「動かなくなった彼の前で」「泣きやまない私に子供たちがしてくれたことは…」

二人のあどけないお子さんの中に鴨志田氏は生き続けていた。
「神様」「ありがとう」の言葉に込められた万感の思い。

美大時代、デッサンに苦しんで「私の絵からは、画面から風が吹いてこない」と嘆いていたサイバラさん。
この４巻目のラスト、野原にすっくと立ってかあさんを見ている二人の子供たちの姿から、きらめく風が吹いてきます。感動必至。

ついに出ました四巻。タイトル通り夫・鴨ちゃんの「出戻り」がメインです。
ニュースなどで報じられているように、鴨志田さんはアルコール依存症を克服したものの、膵臓がんにより今年（2007年）春に帰らぬ人になりました。残り短い歳月の中で一家４人の日常が描かれています。描き方によってはいくらでも陳腐に陥りかねない事実を西原さんはさらりと、でも愛情を込めて語っています。
ただ、読んでみてくださいとしか言えません。
立ち読みはお勧めしません。私は目が潤んでしまって、相当恥ずかしかったです。
家でじっくり読んでみてください。
どんなお偉方が言う言葉よりも、子供って、家族ってありがたいものだ。素直にそう思わされました。
