中学生向けの本ではあるが、良い。最近の著書は「14歳からの哲学」は良かったが、それ以降私はちょっと物足りなかった。しかし、本書は良いと思う。
友愛のところで「人に好かれようと思うよりも、人を好きになる方が、断然面白いことだと思わないか」という言葉がある。私はこの言葉はいいなと思った。

005−2006に毎日中学生新聞に連載したものと、新聞が廃刊になったため、半分は書き下ろし。
あとがきにあるように、14歳からの哲学がかなり原理的なところから、ものごとの考え方を説き起こしているのに対し、本書はもう少し柔らかく、ある意味で読みやすく、エッセイふうに書いているそうです。
そして、受験への役には立ちませんが、人生の役には必ず立ちます。皆様への信頼とともに。と閉じています。（2006、11月）
47歳のオヤジが読んでも新鮮で心が洗われるようです。そして是非とも多くの方に読んでもらいたい。知ることや記憶することよりも考えること、そして思い込む事よりも考える事の重要性を考えることができます。
あとがきを書かれた時はすでに自分の死を受け入れていたのでしょうか。合掌

訃報を聞いたのをきっかけに、
まだ読んでいなかったこちらの本を買いました。

「14歳からの〜」よりもより易しく親しみやすい表現になっているので
氏の著作に初めて触れるという方にお勧めです。

あくまで14歳前後の子どもたちに語りかけてはいますが、
大人の方にも読んでもらいたい内容です。
