美人でどじな賞金稼ぎが、見当違いの捜査をしながら事件の核心に迫って行くというのが、このシリーズの基本パターンだと思います。

今回も間抜けさを発揮して、犯人には何度も逃げられるし、車は何度も燃やされるし、相変わらずの絶好調ぶりですが、事件の核心に迫って銃を付きつけられるならともかく、相手に良いように翻弄されっぱなしで、捜査の方もほとんどレンジャー頼りです。

ロマンスじゃないのだから、８作目なので、もう少し探偵としてのスキルを磨いてほしいとも思うし、第１作目の撃たれながらも相手を射殺するような、スカッとしたところが欲しいと思います。

シリーズの最初からずっと読んでます。メインの登場人物はもちろん個性溢れる面々ですが、このシリーズの良いところは毎回新しく登場する脇役達も主役に負けないほど面白いところでしょう。あまりに個性があってこの先もレギュラーになるのかしら？と思わせる人物ばかりです。今回もやけに可愛らしい子犬のような弁護士君が登場します。それからステファニー、ジョー、レンジャーの三角関係も妙に読者をハラハラさせます。今回はジョーの出番が少ないのですがそれでも内容は期待通りです。探偵小説として読むと物足りないでしょうけど娯楽小説としては抜群だと思うのは私だけでしょうか？

迷バウンティハンター、ステファニー・プラムのシリーズ８作目。
いつもながらの奇妙奇天烈な連中との大騒ぎ、さすがに８作目ともなると飽きがこようというものなのですが、このシリーズに限ってそんなことはありません。いい意味でマンネリ化していて、ステファニーがいつ車を燃やすのか、何台スクラップにするのか、もう楽しみで楽しみで。

ドタバタ騒ぎにもいっそう磨き（？）がかかり、ステファニーは今までにない大ピンチ、メイザおばあちゃんは言うに及ばず、出戻りの姉ヴァレリーや心配性の母親まで、家族を巻き込んでの大暴走。さらにはステファニーとモレリ、レンジャーとの奇妙な三角関係に一大転機が訪れ、初登場のちょっと頼りない（もちろん奇人！）弁護士とヴァレリーとの関係も気にかかり・・・と、飽きているヒマなどないほどてんこ盛りの内容です。
ところで、作者のイヴァノヴィッチはステファニー・プラムとは別の新シリーズのスタートさせたそうです。そちらも気になりますね。
