いつも思う事ですが、キングはどうしてこうもアイディアがポンポン出てくるんんでしょうか。「超高層ビルの恐怖」は話を読んですぐに頭の中にリアルなイメージが浮かび、自分も実体験しているかのように錯覚してしまいます。
「花を愛した男」は、現代版ストーカーと変質猟奇殺人者も話で、ラストはゾッとさせられます。
一つ一つの短編が同じ著者が書いた物とは思えないほど、バリエーションに富んでいて楽しめますよ。

　キングの短編（中編？）といえば、スタンドバイミー他の「フォーシーズン
ズ」が有名ですが、扶桑社の短編シリーズはキングの作品を初めて読む人には
入りやすいのではないでしょうか？

　特に「超高層ビルの恐怖」の臨場感がスゴイ！

　また、「禁煙挫折者救済有限会社」については、禁煙中の人にお勧めです。
奇想天外な設定にまったくくだらないと思う人もいるかも知れませんが、細やかな描写が好みの方は、
物語にぐいぐい引き込まれて行くことでしょう。

スティーヴン・キングの短編集はどれをとってもレベルが高く、ホラー・ＳＦ・ノスタルジー・ファンタジー・ヒューマン等テーマが多岐にわたっていてしかもキングワールドとしか表現できない世界を構築している。
一度この世界にとらわれたらもう逃げられない！？またひとりキングファンが出来上がる。
この作品では「戦場」がおすすめ。マンガ「ジョジョの奇妙な冒険」で杜王町編の中の、相手スタンドのモチーフになっている？と思われる小説です。
