ちいさなハムスター、ロラの家族がお引越しをすることになりました。パパとママは忙しいといって相手にしてくれません。つまらなくなったロラはママやパパの邪魔をして怒られます。しょんぼりしたロラは自分のおもちゃで遊ぼうと思いますが、暗い廊下を通って部屋に行くのがこわかったのです。でも勇気をふりしぼって自分のお部屋に入ってみました。そこにはロラの大事にしているタオルがおいてありました。ロラはタオルをだいて、”寂しくないよ”と抱きしめてあげました。しばらくしてママとパパのところ戻ってみると、疲れてぐったりしているパパとママがいます。そしてロラはある方法で二人の疲れをいやしてくれるのでした。

子供に読ませる本というよりは、親がよんで反省する絵本という感じです。少しオシャマなロラちゃんは3,4才ぐらいの女の子という感じでしょうか。

つかれているとき、悲しいとき、イライラするまえに、お子さんに　そう話しかけたら、きっと、とっておきの魔法をかけてくれますよ。小さなハムスターのロラは、見ているだけでも　なごんでしまうほど愛らしい。今日はお引越しの日。新しい家で落ち着かないロラ。パパとママはいそがしすぎて、抱っこもしてくれない。おまけに、ママは、「いま手がはなせないのが　わからないの」なんて、おこりだしちゃう。夜、くたくたにくたびれているパパとママに、ロラが、とっておきの魔法をかけてくれましたよ。・・・ね、パパとママの顔が、いい顔になったでしょ。２００２年１０月発行

「だいすきっていいたくて」を読んで以来、
カール・ノラックの絵本の魅力のとりことなってしまいました。

ロラのような暖かい気持ち、本当は誰でも持っているはず。
