この話は現時点ではよしながふみのBL最高傑作じゃないんでしょうか。
始まった時にはこんな話になるとは誰も思っていなかったと思います。
もうハンカチ持って読んで欲しい。自分は何度読んでも最後のあの場面で泣けて泣けてしょうがない……。

没落した貴族の息子と大人気ポルノ小説作家は男娼と客として出会う。
貴族の誇りしか持たない少年と、貴族の誇りを憎む青年は、しかしやがて主人と従者という関係になり、やがて家族へ、そしてそれ以上の存在にへと変わってゆくが、二人に襲い掛かってくるのは容赦ない時代の荒波だった。

執事の分際から続く似非フランス革命（と勝手に呼んでいる）ものですが、この話、BLの皮をかぶった真っ正直なビルディングロマンです。
少年から青年へ、素直に、まっすぐに育ってゆくジャックの、その資質のすばらしさにも感動しますが、彼を雇い、育て、やがて彼を愛するようになるジェラールの、その心の動きが特に素晴らしい！！！
過去の手酷い経験から、貴族を憎み、愛を遠ざけ、復讐するかのようにポルノ小説を書き続けるジェラール。
その傷ついていた心が、再び愛をおぼえ、愛を知り、そして愛を受け入れ、自分を愛するようになるまでがもう本当に見事な筆致で書き綴られております。震えるほどに心に染みます。

激変した政治状況に暗澹たる心地で酒を飲む兵に、語りかけるジェラールの言葉が本当に素晴らしい。
愛を得ることによって他人を許すことが出来る。
そんなジェラールが笑えるようになったことが、本当に嬉しく―――喜ばしく思う。

．．．ひとつのコマにも無駄が無く、さらりと深い、深〜い愛のお話。
よしながふみという漫画家を知ったのは極々最近のことなのですが、かの全盛期の「LaLa]を思い起こさせる、単なるボーイズラブという次元を超えた作風には、すっかり心の琴線をえぐられてしまいました。
何度も浸って、浸りきって読み返したくなってしまう、そんな感動が読後にありました。
西洋骨董洋菓子店や執事の領分よりも、心の本質に響く分、私は「ジェラールとジャック」がいちばん好きです。
あとは読んで是非確かめて下さい。
今の時代にもこういう読み応えのある作家さんがいたことをうれしく思うばかりです。

ポルノ小説家（平民）×召使（貴族）

よしながふみの名作ＢＬ。
私はＢＬが一般紙で書評つきで紹介されてるのを初めてみました。
お堅いメジャー紙の選定員も無視できないほどのパワーがあることを証した美しい物語です。

男娼と客として知り合った二人が召使と主人となり、ジャックの出生の秘密をジェラールが、
ジェラールの過去をジャックが知り互いを愛するまでの軌跡を描いています。

しかし、舞台は革命期のフランス。
二人は過酷な運命に追い立てられていきます。

「俺がこの世に生きているのはもうお前のためだけだ　だから生きていてくれ」

それに対するジャックの応えにはうち震えるほどの感動が。

ジェラールの愛と魂が再生していくのを画だけで表現したラストは漫画史に残る名シーンだと思います。
