月刊ＭＯＥでの連載が本当に素晴らしいので、
即購入し、大正解だった一冊です。
ミムラさんは、わざわざ絵本を置くための
お部屋を作られただけあって、さすがに、
面白い作品を紹介して下さっています。

ただ、紹介されている絵本以上に、
ミムラさんの文章の面白さに驚かされます。
絵本をたくさん読まれてきたからだと思いますが、
言葉がとてもやわらかく、情景描写も秀逸なのです。

かつて、山本夏彦さんが向田邦子さんを評して
「突然現れて、殆ど名人である」
と語りましたが、これはミムラさんにも
当てはまる言葉だと私は思います。
これからは、「絵本と言えば、ミムラさん」
と言われるのではないでしょうか。

ミムラさんのおかげで、
『ふたりはともだち』シリーズを知りました(^^)
もちろん、この作品以外にも、
魅力的な絵本を数多く紹介して下さっています。

すでに何冊も、絵本のガイド本が出ていますが、
こんなに楽しい気持ちで読めたガイド本は初めてです。
特に、「ロッタちゃんとじてんしゃ」のエピソードなど、
あぁ、わかるわかる！！という感じで、絵本より、
ミムラさんの文章に引き込まれてしまいます(^^;)

絵本好きな方にはもちろんですが、
誰かに絵本を贈りたい、そんな方にもオススメです。

TVドラマ「いま、会いにいきます」などに出演していた
女優のミムラさんによる絵本にまつわるエッセイですが、
単なるタレント本、とあなどるなかれ。

幼い頃に体験したささやかな心の機微を、
こんなに明瞭に言語化できてしまうなんて、並の作家ではありません。
ここでとりあげられている絵本が読みたくなってうずうずして、
いてもたってもいられなくなります。

読んだことのない絵本はもちろんですが、
「ふたりはともだち」「こんとあき」「てぶくろ」など
絵本好きなら誰もが知っている定番絵本も、ミムラさんにすすめられると、
「ああ、こんなにいい作品だったっけ」ともう一度読み返したくなります。

ミムラさんの文章がこんなにイイのは、
きっと小さい頃から絵本をたくさん読んできたからじゃないでしょうか。

絵本の威力をあらためて教えてくれた一冊です。
