　かのこの趣味はクラスで唯一の傍観者となり、他人の友情や恋愛といった人間関係を観察、そして愛憎劇を楽しむこと。傍観者として楽しむ為には好きな男子や仲のいい友達を一切つくらず、常に一人で行動するほど。
　さてはて、かのこのクラスではどんな人間模様がうずまいているのやら――

　読み切りからシリーズとなった『笑うかのこ様』。全て１話読みきり形式です。転校ということで毎回学校が変わる為、いつも新しい人間関係が登場。この巻最後に収録されている第５話のみ、以前いた学校（第１話の学校）が舞台になります。そして登場するキャラがまた全員いい。日常生活の場面のやりとりが妙にリアル……「こういうやりとり見た事ある」と思うことも。各話の主軸となるモノ（三角関係とか）は目新しくありません。というかお約束というか。それなのにかのこがはいると結末が思わぬ方向に。

　人間観察のため傍観者になるかのこは移動教室や帰り、弁当の時間も一人で過ごす。その潔さは清々しく、それ故に周囲の裏工作や徒党を組んでの攻撃が虚しく見える。（しかしその行動が時に興味をもたれ、時にうっとうしがられ、と傍観者でいられなくなるきっかけにもなるのですが）
　ともあれ、年齢や性別関係なく楽しめる数少ないマンガの誕生だと思います

中学3年生のかのこの趣味は、人間観察。
クラスメイトの動向を毎日観察、記録している。
完全な傍観者として観察するため
好きな人も嫌いな人もつくらないよう、いつも一人でいるが。

三角関係や、教師との秘密の恋などなど
家の都合で転校人生のかのこは、観察材料にことかきません。
傍観者でいようとしても、まきこまれたり、行動してしまったり。
仲良くなる子達もできてくるのですが
関係が続いているのは、一校だけなのが残念。
キャラが強い子が多いので、一話消えはもったいない感じです。
基本的に、ひとつの学校にはひとつのお話の間しか
在籍していないので、前の学校の子が消えがちなのです。

絵はちょっとあらさもありますが、
シニカルでコミカルなところがクセになります。
かのこの少ない友人のひとり、
俺様なのにモテる椿くんとの間も気になる。

この漫画の掲載誌LALAの中でも
大人にこそ勧めたい。と
思ってしまった一冊です。

社会人になっても笑えない
”リアルな人間関係”の闇を
あっさり笑いと萌えに変えてくれる一冊です
