これまで少しづつ少しづつ有馬本人の過去＋有馬家の話に触れてきただけに、一体いつになったら全て語られるんだ~？？！！と思って読んでいました。今思えば、上手な引っ張り方で脱帽です☆それだけにこの巻を読み終えた充実感といったら…。まだ読んでない方は早く手にとって頂きたい！さっぱりしますよ♪さっぱりしたあとも続きが気になるのは、やはりこの漫画の魅力ですね。

19巻は、怜司の過去の話です。そして、総一君がどのようにして
生まれ、怜司からどのように思われていたのかが、わかります。
弱さゆえの過ちなども、描かれていて、読んでいてあまりすっきり
とは、しませんでしたが、不幸だけれど愛情もあるのだなと思いました。

この巻は、少し重みがありますね。でも、いろいろ傷ついて、困難を
こえて大人になっていく総一君は素敵です。

次回から、主人公雪野の戻って、以前の明るい物語に期待します。

作者は元々、雪野と総一郎の二人の立場から物語を書き分けたかったようです。にしても、総一郎は暗い。この生い立ちの暗さは、古い文豪の文学作品を見ているような感触があります。この連綿と続く「家」と「血」による縛りは、日本の文学作品にはよく見るテーマで、少女マンガでも陰りのある美少年（笑）は、大抵この手の生い立ちの暗さをもっています。昔話や古典で言うと、貴種流離譚ですね。ただ、背中からヒタヒタと迫ってきて精神を追い詰める、生まれる前からの刻印への恐怖・苛立ちそして解放への作者のテーマの展開力は群を抜いています。僕がこの作者を好きなのは、人間のドロドロに暗い側面と、同時に解放されたときの聖性を帯びた美しさ静謐さを｢同時に見てしまう｣人だからです。主人公たちはのた打ち回りながらも、永遠に反復する業の輪を断ち切ろうと、もがいています。この手の作品は、庵野監督のエヴァンゲリオンで頂点を見た、過剰な自意識を支えきれない弱さのみをクローズアップする視点から､やや踏み出しています。そこは、すごく好感が持てる。

この手の感覚は、最近だと栗本薫の『絃の聖域』『大道寺一族の滅亡』や京極夏彦『うぶめの夏』や古くは森鴎外や田山花袋などの明治の文豪の香りがする気がします。なぜだろう？。たぶん、こういう親や家の長く連続して繰り返される「業」に縛られるというのは、近代日本の大土地所有制度のもとの地主や、地方の名家や芸事とに縛られる家元等の日本的『家』の連続性に絡む発想だからでしょうね。ある意味、そういったドロドロ複雑に絡まった歴史的なヘリテージを否定するところからはじまった米国などでは、ありえない発想でしょうね。だから有馬の父親が、米国に旅立つのはすごく象徴的です。
