那須 正幹
1942年、広島に生まれる。島根農科大学林学科卒業後、文筆生活にはいる。主な作品に、1978年発表の『それいけズッコケ三人組』をはじめとする「ズッコケ三人組」シリーズ(巖谷小波賞)があり、2004年12月『ズッコケ三人組の卒業式』で完結した。ほかにも『さぎ師たちの空』(路傍の石文学賞)、「お江戸の百太郎」シリーズ(日本児童文学者協会賞)、『ズッコケ三人組のバック・トゥ・ザ・フューチャー』(野間児童文芸賞)など多数(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

子供の頃、ズッコケシリーズを読んでいましたが、
その頃の思い出を胸に読んでみました。

昔のズッコケシリーズに比べて若さはありませんが、
読み手も歳を重ねているので、共感できる部分は多くあります。

ハチベエの子供の不良の問題。
モーちゃんの子供のいじめの問題。
ハカセは結婚しない（できない？）独身のつらさ
のような中年の世代が悩む問題にフォーカスを当てています。

2時間位あればすぐに読めてしまうので、子供の頃を懐かしみながら
読書をするというのにはもってこいの一冊です。

ただ、やはり小学生のころのような覇気を3人に感じることはありません。
小学生向けのズッコケシリーズを期待しないほうが良いでしょう。
個人的には次回に持ち越された感のある、ハカセと荒井陽子との進展が気になります。

ゆずが好きなので、彼らを目的で初めて買ったズッコケですが、
ズッコケ三人組の小学生時代のシリーズは、学生時代に図書室で読んでいました。
ゆず目当てで買うなら物足りないと感じるかもしれませんが（「ぼくの漫画の主人公」のフレーズにまつわるエピソードが出てくるだけなので）、
かつてズッコケ三人組を読んでいた人は、読んでみても面白いかもしれません。
前開きと後ろ開きの前川かずおさんのイラストも健在でとてもうれしかったです。
挿絵も今までの著書の挿絵ばかりだったので、そういう意味でとても懐かしくなりました。

ズッコケ中年三人組は今回初めて読みましたが、四十代を迎えた面々の変化に少々驚きを感じました。
今回の話の筋は、ハチベエの息子の一平とモーちゃんの娘の佳奈にまつわる話。
こういう悪質ないじめを訴えるあたりに「ライフ」などに通ずる時代の流れを感じます。

いじめられている少女に重なる楽曲の使われ方は、とても好感を持ちました。
詞が見せる別の面を引き出してくれたのではないかなと思います。


この作品はひらがなの多さなどもあり児童文学に分類されるのでしょうが、
どちらかと言うと児童より、今までズッコケを読んできた人向けの作品だと感じました。

「いじめ」「無気力な若者」といった極めて現代的なテーマを扱ったズッコケ中年シリーズの最新作。
はっきりいって救いがない気分になるが（笑）、相変わらず一気に読んでしまう一冊だ。

もっとも、リアリティを追求した作品ではない。
これらの問題はわりとあっさりと解決してしまうし、子供も親も素直すぎる気もする。

だがこれはむしろ、著者のこだわりだろう。
ズッコケシリーズはリアリティを追求する作品ではなく、あくまで「ファンタジー」であり、読者に夢を持たせたり、いろいろなことを考えさせるきっかけとなったりするものなのだから。

個人的には、次回作でのハカセの恋の進展に期待。
ゆずとのコラボレーションは微妙か・・・。
