　私の今一番気に入っている絵本です。
　にじいろのはなびらをもった優しいお花のもとに、鳥やねずみがやってきて、いろいろな相談を持ちかけます。優しいにじいろの花は･･･？
フレスコという技法でかかれた絵が力強く、とても暖かい感じです。（本は印刷なので、実際の絵に触れてそのザラザラした手触りが楽しめないのが残念です。）

　お話も自然の厳しさ・そして暖かさが子供の心によく響くようにかかれていて、お勧めの本です。

この本を読んだのは子供が入院していたときのこと。色味のない病室で広げたらほんとに部屋がぱっと明るくなったような錯覚に陥りました。 お話の内容もシンプルだけれど、優しさと生きる強さとを伝えてくれます。我が家の子供達のお気に入りの１冊です。

マイケル・グレイニエツの絵本の中でも一番好きな本です。
小さい子にはもちろん、ある程度上の学年の子にも、大人でも心に響くものがあります。
最後はハッピーエンドなので、安心して読めます。
