お友達とこっそり公園で子犬の世話をしてるみほちゃん。でも急な雨で小犬のことが心配になったみほちゃんは、ママとの約束を破って、渡ってはいけない道路を渡り公園へと出掛けてしまいます。いなくなったみほちゃんを探して子供達の大捜索隊が出来てしまいます。みほちゃんを知らない子まで探してくれて・・・

「子供の頃同じ様な事したなぁ~」と（こっそり動物を飼う）思い出しました。みんなが協力してくれるという、子供達の暖かさが伝わってくるお話です。

名著『となりのせきのますだくん』シリーズの最新作。
画面構成はますます精緻となり
元から卓越せる心理描写と相まって
レベルの高い絵本に仕上がっている。

原色溢れる画面がうるさいと感じる人もいるだろうが
既作に比し、ストーリーに広がりもあり
シリーズの決定版であることは間違いないだろう

学校生活にも慣れて来て、「楽しい１年生」な、ますだくんとみほちゃん。ひょんなことから迷子になっちゃったみほちゃんを、みほんちゃんを知らない別の学校の子達まで巻き込んだ大捜索隊が探します。

楽し、懐かし、小学生時代を思い出して、ほのぼの浸れる物語。
「こんな子いたよなあ・・・」と思えます。
