このシリーズを読んではじめて、ジェームスが最初から赤い色でなかったってわかるんです。　テレビシリーズでは最初から赤い色が自慢の機関車だけれど、　これの前の「汽車のえほん２」では、ジェームスって黒い機関車なんです。　字がよめるようになったら、あえてこのシリーズをお子さんにプレゼントするのも素敵だと思います。

大好きな機関車を通して、もっと文字の世界が広がると思うし、なんといってもこの絵が素敵、すばらしい。キャラクター商品の機関車たちはみんな同じ表情が多いけれど、このシリーズの機関車たちの表情はとても人間味があって、素敵です。
