「センセイの鞄」の読了後、心の中にぽっかりと穴が開いてしまったような感じを受けました。今回の「パレード」は、その穴を埋めてくれるものなのか、それともまた切ない気持ちを呼び覚ましてしまうものなのか、そんな思いを抱きながら読み始めました。結果は・・・

川上弘美さんの使う「あたたかみ」という言葉が紡ぎ出す情景に浸ることは素敵なことでした。今は亡きセンセイと、ツキコさんの幸せだった生活の一部を
垣間見ることが出来たようでなんだかホッとしました。
「あとがき」には、私たち読者と近い川上さんのこの作品への思いが表現されています。

「センセイの鞄」の中の削られた部分を単行本化したものだと聞いていたので正直どうなんだろうと不安でしたが・・・読んでみてすごく満足しています！この部分が葬り去られなくて良かった！またセンセイとツキコさんに会えて良かった！「センセイの鞄」にも美味しそうにお酒を飲んだりおつまみを食べたりするシーンがいくつも出てきますが、この本にはこれからの季節（夏）にピッタリの食べ物が・・・。ツキコさんが話す小さい頃のエピソードも夏に見る幻のようにゆらゆらしているけど鮮明です。薄いのですぐに読み終わってしまうのが残念ですがぜひ読んでみてください！！

センセイのからっぽの鞄の中をずっと見つめているような気持ちでした。
ツキコさんの人生はセンセイ以前、以後でまるで違ってしまったように私も

「センセイの鞄」以前、以後で変わってしまいました。すごい幸福感ととてつもない寂しさを抱えてツキコさんはどうしているのだろうか。そして二人は一緒にいるときはどんな時間を過ごしていたのだろうか。感情のスイッチを切る決心をすること。それを見守ること。大好きな人に子供の頃ずっと心に引っかていた話をきいてもらうこと。おいしいものをたくさん食べておなかがくちくなって昼寝すること。この薄い本の中に欲しかったものがみんな入っていました。
