１００戦全敗，一度も勝っていない馬がなぜ有名になったか？ハルウララは，どのレースでも，小さな馬体から力を絞り出して，勝利を目指して一生懸命走ってきた。だから，１００回もレースに出走できたのだ。そして，今も，現役の競走馬。そんなハルウララを支える人たちも，一生懸命で，やさしい。応援する人たちも，心から暖かい声援を送る。誰も，負けてもいいとは思っていない。勝ってほしい。でも，結果として勝てなくても，その一生懸命さに心が熱くなり，希望を与えてくれたことに拍手を送る。この本は，私をもハルウララを心から応援する一員に加えてくれるとともに，一生懸命がんばることの大切さを再認識させてくれた。オグリキャップも，地方競馬出身。中央競馬に移ってトップを極めたヒーロー。ハルウララは，地方競馬でも勝てない。これを対称的と見るのは簡単だが，いろんな馬がいる，だからこそ地方競馬の良さがあると言いたい。この本を読み終えた今，ハルウララは，今まで一生懸命走ってきたのだから，これからも一生懸命走ってほしいと思う。１着でゴールしてほしいと心から願う。いつか，勝てるよ。そのときは，ハルウララを応援しているみんなが涙を流して喜ぶだろう。でも，体を壊さないでほしい。元気でいてくれることが一番と思う。この本の中の写真に写るハルウララは，何度見返しても，かわいい。

著名な作者がブームに乗っただけの、競馬をまったく理解していない
著書です。

一生懸命走って死んでいった馬たちにも失礼なこの負け馬ハルウララブーム。
負け犬どもが傷の舐めあいとまでは言いませんが、かなり競馬関係者には
しかめっ面で迎えられてることを覚えてください。
