個人的にはハイデガーの後期の思索は「存在と時間」とはまた少し違った魅力をもち、その呪縛にとらわれた時も少なからずあった。またハイデガーの技術に対する考え方はあまりにベタなのであるが、それでも常に立ち戻らなければいけない何かを語っている気がして、時々振り返るように読む。そんな気持ちでこの書物を手に取ったのであるが、巻末に加えられているシュピーゲルとの対話に出会い、思わずそれから読み進めてしまった。シュピーゲルとの対話とは、死期直前のハイデガーにナチスの関与についてどのように考えるかを質問したもので、ハイデガー本人はそれが生前に公開されることを拒んだ。ハイデガーの言葉の中の言い逃れや無反省があまりにも生々しく記録され、常に泰然としていたハイデガーのイメージは崩れ去った。その後、本編を読むもいろいろな言葉が何故かしらじらしく響く。背景をもって斜めから読むのは邪道かもしれないが、しかし理由はどうであれ、ナチスの問題に何も語らず、一方で「本源」とか「最も根底」とかそういった言葉を臆面もなく語る無頓着さが、どうしても見過ごせなかった。思想とは何か、考えるべきこととは何か、ハイデガーの姿をみて、改めてそんなことを考えさせられた。

ハイデッガーは『存在と時間』がよく知られているようですが、私はこの『形而上学入門』にこそハイデッガーの思想の根本がよくあらわれていると思います。形而上学の入門書というよりはハイデッガーの入門書としてお薦めしたいです。

4.0 out of 5 stars なぜ一体存在者があるのか, 2007/1/17
ライプニッツが発した「なぜ一体存在者があるのか，むしろ無があるのではないのか」という問いに対して「この問いは前半部だけで完結しているように見え，後半部が余分なように思える」といい，しかし結局は「無を存在（存在は存在者ではないから）」と捉えることにより，この問いの新しい側面をあらわにする手際はさすが．あと，ヘラクレイトスとパルメニデスが従来は対立した思想を唱えているが，実はそうではない，という話もハイデガーらしくて面白かったのだが，いまひとつなっとくはいかなかった．
