表題と同じく、文は「にょきにょき」「ぎらぎら」などの擬態語で綴られています。
その文に添えられた、大判の見開きいっぱいに広がる、ユーモラスで美しい絵。
簡潔な言葉と、想像力を掻き立てる絵は子供にも大人にも魅力いっぱい。
２歳の息子は全文（と、言っても短いですが・・）暗記して、繰り返し読んでいます。
私は"ビッグバン"や"リーンカネーション"を連想しました。

１歳になったばかりの息子が大好きな本です。人差し指でつんつんと絵をつつきながら、見ています。見開きページに大きな絵、そしてとても簡単な一言。この組み合わせがお気に入りの理由みたいです。３歳の長男はまだ平仮名が読めないのですが、私が読み聞かせていたのを聞きながら、この絵にはこの言葉と覚えてしまって、弟に読んであげています。もう何度も聞いているので、１歳の息子は最近、「しーん」「つん」とページをめくりながら、言うようになりました。初めて出会う本としてもいいですし、少し大きくなってからは「これはロケットで星に行くの」などとお話を作りながら読むのもおもしろくていいと思います。大人も想像力が膨らんで楽しめます。

気が付けば娘が自分で広げて見ている絵本です。
私がそばにいると1日に3回は持ってきて読んでほしそうに広げます。
読むといっても擬音が多いのですが「もこ」「ぷぅ」と言った音に敏感に反応します。前から家の本棚にあったのですが最近（1歳）になって急にお気に入りになったようです。最初はこんなに反応があることに親の方がびっくりしていました。
見るたびに反応が違ってきたりするので読み手も手を使ったりいろんなパターンで読むよう心がけています。娘が絵本を見ていろんな反応をすると親も楽しめていい栄養剤になっています。
