私が銀器をコレクションしはじめて10年ほどたちます。

最初はティースプーン６本セットでした。阪神大震災の後、陶磁器は

割れてしまうのでコレクションする勇気がなく、「割れない」銀器を

買ったのがきっかけです。コレクションし始めてからは

アンティークショップのオーナーさんに教えて頂いたり、雑誌の

「銀器特集」を読んだり・・・「しっかりしてわかり易く、きれいな

解説書はないものか」と思ったときに出会ったのがこの本です。

銀器を知り尽くした著者だからこその解説と美しい写真は銀器の良さを

十二分に表現してくれています。初心者の方からマニアの方までを満足

させてくれる本です。私としてはこの本のパート２が出ないかと

ひそかに期待をしています。

なにげにアンティークの銀食器に興味が湧いて、購入しました。
うんちく抜きに美しい、です。
今ではすっかり銀の奥の深さ、美しさのとりこであるばかりでなく、
その歴史的背景や中世の貴族の生活に興味が湧きました。

アンティークの銀なんてマニアックな世界だと思われるかもしれません。
でも、キラキラして、精緻で、きれいで･･。

女のコ魂をくすぐられる魅力が満載！だと思います。
（もちろん男性にも。ちなみにこの本の著者は男性です）

スプーン一本にもこだわりぬいた中世の職人の技は、
普段なかなかお目にかかる機会もなく、お値段もはり、
もちろん簡単に手に入る代物ではありません。

が・この本では惜しげもなく数々の逸品を目にすることができます。

『英国骨董おおはら』というＨＰが参考になるかと思いますが、
それに加えて本書は写真のセンスが素晴らしいので特におすすめ致します。

子供ができても、骨董好きはなおりません。
以前のように、海外までは、出かけることができませんが・・・
子供を寝付かせたひとりの時間にぱらぱら。ほんとに綺麗。
シルバーを通しての英国の歴史、ホールマークの読み方、ロンドンのマーケット情報など、写真だけでなく
著者の大原さんの文章がとても楽しいです。
アンティークシルバー好きは、是非手元に！
