私はマタニティ･ウェアを作りたくてこの本を買ったので、ベビー服は他を参考にしましたが、既製品の幼稚なデザインではなく、シンプルなマタニティ･ウェアを探している人にはお薦めです。　なかにはちょっとはやりからはずれているのでは？というデザインもありましたが、パンツなど、着心地が良く、しかも妊娠中ずっと着られるものは何着か作って重宝しました。　ママコートも作りたかったのですが、時期が夏だったので、取りあえず断念。　冬に子供を抱っこするようだったらその時に作ろうかな、と思っています。　型紙はなく、自分で線を引く形なので、算数が苦手、図形を書くのが苦手な人はちょっとつらいかも。　ただ、その分、自分の体型に合った服が作れます。

シンプルなワンピースなどがたくさん載っているのは確かですが、原型から型紙をおこすのがほとんどなので、これが平気な人にしかすすめられません。パターンもかなりクラシカルで、洋裁コーナーの型紙のイメージです。もしも一枚とか二枚しか作らないなら、型紙だけ買って、何パターンか作る方が楽に感じます。

ベビー服はシンプルなデザインで囲み製図もあります。このくらいならがんばれそうです。自分でいろいろできる上級者向けの本かな、という印象です。

表紙の中身の雰囲気に差があります。ちょっと昔風のデザインのマタニティです。そういうデザインや産着を作りたい人にはいい本です。ただ原型のパターンしか無いので、自分で型紙を作らないといけないのはかなり面倒くさい。中級者以上にオススメ。また自分風にアレンジしやすいという意味では上級者などに使えるかも。
