何年ぶりかで待望の続編！
大人になった阿鬼＝燕見鬼の活躍に加え飛礫を使うお嬢様も見逃せません。
守り神である眼光娘々様も久々に（立像としてだけど）登場。
この続きもまた同じ位待ったって構わない！！

……と思いきや、過去話に行く前のインターミッションに「これからの荒筋｣が。

え？これで終わり…？？
ナレーションで纏めるなんてそんな、少年誌の打ち切り漫画じゃないんだから……！
掲載誌が無くなったのは知っていたし、だから描き下しを加えての刊行になったのも理解出来るのですが。
読者は付いて行くのだから、諦めずに描き続けて欲しいと思います。諦めずに待ってます。

何があったか知りませんが、いかにも中途半端な終わり方が気になります。このシリーズはもう続かないのではないか･･･と思わせます。短編連作のほうがやっぱり良かったのでは。

~諸星大二郎の何が魅力的かって、少年主人公の活躍でしょう。「暗黒神話」の山門武、「孔子暗黒伝」のハリ＝ハラ、「西遊妖猿伝」の悟空……この『諸怪志異(四)燕見鬼』はそうした、作者ひさしぶりの、生き生きした少年主人公の物語なんです。

主人公のかたわらには謎のヒロイン。対するは悪の権化みたいな魔導士と妖術を使う女剣客。魔法を懸けられた予言書~~（ネクロノミコンの一種？）をめぐって、全員が複雑にからみあう。ちょっと主人公が強すぎる気もしますが、まあいいか。諸星先生は実はアクション場面もなかなか上手です（「西遊…」の悟空の大立ち回りとかすごいでしょ。あの雰囲気が復活してます）。
謎のヒロイン小玉もいいですね。諸星先生の描く女性は実はけっこう色っぽい。最近の萌えブームはよくわ~~からないのですが、諸星女キャラにはグッと来る私です。

お話が完結していないのがみなさんご不満のようですが、この続きは「水滸伝」とか読むといいんじゃないかな。「西遊…」の元ネタが西遊記だけじゃなくて半分は水滸伝であるように、本作でも前巻で虎退治武松が登場しているように、諸星世界は実は水滸伝という大きな物語と連結しているのです。ちく~~ま文庫『水滸伝の世界』高島俊男がサブテキストとしておすすめです。

画のタッチがだいぶ全盛期と変わってしまいましたが、物語の巧みさ・壮大さは健在。このところ内省的な作品が続いた諸星先生ですが、ひさびさのスカッとする活劇ですよ。~

尻切れもいいとこだった前巻の続きとしては大満足。でも今回もある意味尻切れ。
