SF大賞受賞作品。ＡＫＩＲＡで有名な大友氏がそれ以前に描いた名作。

今では少女漫画ですら使われる、建物が特異な圧力によって壊れる時の丸い陥没状態等をおそらくは初めてマンガに持ち込み、陥没画面ブームを漫画の間にしばらく引き起こしていたように思います。

A5サイズで出ているのですが、『絶対にこれ以下のサイズには出来ない』と言うギリギリの緻密さには感動。ストーリーも、シンプルながらトリックが効いていて、どちらかと言えば一部の読者向けに発信していた才能をメジャーに向けて纏め上げた力作です。

大友克洋代表作と言えば「AKIRA」と並んでこの「童夢」があげられる。
「AKIRA」ではネオ・トーキョーという大舞台で繰り広げられたのに対し、こちらは団地という極めて狭く閉鎖的な舞台。白い世界観から徐々にホラータッチで色がついていき、爆発的なスピード感でクライマックスへ入る。読み終えた後に、これがＳＦだよって満足感でいっぱいになる。

「目に見えない戦い」「空間の存在」の見せ方、そして何処の位置からも描けるカメラ視点は天才的だね。漫画で初めて「日本ＳＦ大賞」を受賞しているこの作品。見逃してはいけない。
これも映像化して欲しいね。

大友克洋さんの代表作「童夢」
これを見た時の衝撃、すべての表現が僕にとっては初体験だった。
なんの説明も無く、超能力ありきの世界、その世界が日常的な団地、
このバランスが妙にリアル感があって、説明がなくとも超能力の存在をすんなり認めてしまう、
大友作品は設定や登場人物に説明的な表現はほんとんどしない、
だが、読者に想像させる演出が見事なので、読んだ後「意味がわからない」とは思わないのである。
やたらと物事に意味を求める人はいるが、そういう人は合わないのかもしれない
