映画は見ていません、この本の上下巻を読みました。
読んでいるあいだはどんどん先を読みたくなります。
しかし、読み終わってからは物足りなさを感じます。
犯人である「ワシ」や「バットマン」についてではなく、
上司：植草の行動や、ニュース番組に関しての内容が多かった。
確かに、その部分はとてもおもしろい。面白いのだが、
ラスト肝心の「バッドマン」はあっさりと捕まり、「ワシ」は謎の部分が残ったまま。
否、謎というより特に理由はなく、単純な事件で終わってしまった。
「姿の見えない犯人に時に刑事は恐怖を感じる・・」
冒頭でその様な事が述べてあり、そのことを伝えたかったのかもしれないが、
ならばもっと主人公：巻島の心情を描いてほしかった。
私が様々な部分を伏線だと思って読みすぎたのでしょうか、どんでん返しを期待したら
意外とあっさり終わってしまいました。

上司をパージするところまでは非常にいいのに、
終盤は、別人が書いたように話が軽くなってしまったのが残念。
その終盤のせいで、作品自体が軽くなった印象は否めない。
もう少し重厚さがあれば、すごい作品になったであろう。
その点、万民向けであるともいえるのだが。
著書の作品は初めてだが、わりと好き嫌いがはっきりする作家なのかなぁと思う。
いわゆる本格推理小説好きには「軽すぎて」という感じがする。
逆に重いものが嫌いという人たちには圧倒的に支持されそう。



重厚なミステリーを求める方にはお薦めしない。
話題作だし、とりあえず読んでみるかという方にはぜひお薦めである。
文庫でなら、損はさせないと思う。

主人公の顔が頭の中でトヨエツになってしまうのは、良しとして、女性キャスターや、上司植草が、あまりにパターン通りの人物で、想像をうらぎることがない。チョンボ君も勘がいいってことでしょうが、普通たった一人で行動するかな？実際は危険なんだから、二人行動だと思う。なんか都合がよすぎるような・・・・。
