とても綺麗でどこか切ない文章を書く人だなと思います。
プラスこの人の書く登場人物の会話がとてもいいです。
正直今一番注目している作家であり、最も好きな作家になりました。

この作品がミステリと呼べるかは微妙なところだと思うけど
全体に漂う読んでてどこかドキドキするような感じは、
ミステリなのかなと思います。

好きな作品は「眠りの海」と「瑠璃」
「眠りの海」は切ないながらも、最後どこか救われた
ような気分になり読後感に浸りました。
「瑠璃」は主人公の女の子になんとなく憧れを抱いてしまった。
どこかわかる、という思いと納得してしまう切ない最後
に涙でした。

「このミステリーがすごい！２０００年版」のベスト１０に入った短編集。ミステリーとは少し違うような気がするが、不思議な話の数々です。「眠りの海」はある男性と、一人の少年の出会いの話。「祈灯」幽霊ちゃんというあだ名を持つ女性の話。高いところから夜の街を見下ろす時私は何を思うだろう、そんなことを思った話。「蝉の証」夏の暑い中うるさく鳴き続ける蝉を少し好きになれた話。「瑠璃」瑠璃色の目した瑠子という名の少女といとこの男の子の切ない恋の話。「彼の棲む場所」完璧な人物の中のもう一つの彼に出合った話。私はしいて言えば「祈灯」と「蝉の証」が好きです。どれも夏の終わりに読みたくなる、切なさともの悲しさを持った話です。映画やドラマでは決して表せない、小説でなければ味わえない透明感を持ったストーリーの数々です。

短編集です。
５話も入ってます。タイトルのミッシングにかけたのか、それぞれ何かを失った人たちの話です。
ふつうに生活していてそうそうあり得る話ではないけど、妙に共感できます。登場人物たちも一癖あるのになぜか親近感を覚えます。

楽しかった昔を懐かしみ、やりきれない現在の状況に思いを馳せ、やがて来る未来におののきながらじっくり読んでもらいたい名作です。
空くじ無し。
