人が消える白い建物。主人公たちは、なぜ人が消えるのか？どのような場合に消えるのか？消えない人もいるのはなぜ？誰が、なのために？・・を推理しながら、その謎に迫って行きます。その主人公達に迫る、影・・・。主人公は、謎を解き、無事生還できるのか？という話でした。

いやー、楽しめました。結末は、そう驚くべきものでは、ないです。が、そこに至る過程が、楽しい、楽しい。いったいこの建物はなんなんだ？自分だったら、どんな結末にするか、ＳＦチックな妄想が、渦巻いて、ワクワクして読めました。
量も丁度よく、気になって一気に読める本でした。

本とは別の解も、いくつでも考えられる、なかなか「おしゃれ」な本でした。あなたなら、どのような「仕掛け」にしますか？

先に、言っちゃいます。
ラストのおちは、ワタシには、いまいちインパクトが足りないです。

古代ミステリーな導入から、マイクル・クライトンを思わせる
古代の謎に迫る現代の科学調査と、登場人物たちの推理力。

ラストまで、ぐいぐい読者を引っ張っていきます。

最初は、人が消えるという、その場所、その迷宮での
数々のミステリー。

それから、中東にあるその謎の迷宮を巡る調査隊。

それから、お話は進んで、巨大な陰謀による壮大な政治的陰謀説。

で・・ラストが、謎解きになる、と思いきや・・そう簡単には
幕は下ろしません。

恩田さんならではの、壮大な読者と作家の謎解き合戦です。

ファンタジー小説と言えなくもないですが、れっきとした
古代ミステリー仕立てで、結構楽しめました、の佳作かな。

登場人物だけではなく、読者も迷路に連れ込まれる感じです。途中の展開と最後の至ったことがどれだけ納得できるかは、読者にゆだねられますが、自分としてはまだきちんと納得できていない面もあります。
