日本人は、「ピアプレッシャー」が強すぎるので、もっと個性を
尊重するべきであるという主張をする一方で、創造はみんなでするものだ
という主張もなされている。

どこかで整合性がとれるような説明があるかと期待しながら
読み進めたのだが、この点に関して論理的な説明が最後まで与えられて
おらず残念であった。

科学者らしく、具体的なアイデアを提唱し、それを定量的に検討する
ような内容を期待していたのだが、本書は単に著者の考えを羅列しているにすぎない。
また議論も論理的とは言えず、期待はずれであった。

脳は一つの天才細胞に率いられることはない。

社会も同様に一人の天才に率いられるのではなく、多くの人の一歩の力に支えられている。

その象徴として、全員参加のトヨタの改善運動を挙げ、一人の天才を讃えるノーベル賞と

比較することにより、日本的創造の意義を考える。

茂木健一郎氏らしい、大きな発想の飛躍が楽しめる好著。

なお、ひらめきの導火線とは、脳におけるニューロン発火を意味しているように思う。

　日本人には独創性がないと言われてきた。しかし本書では、この問題について、「トヨタ」と「ノーベル賞」とを比較することで、読者に新しい着眼点を持たせる。

　一個人が大発明をするわけではないが、トヨタの「改善」を例にあげ、日本では個々人のひらめきが導火線になり大きな発明につながっているという。

　また、「ひらめき」をテーマにした章は興味深く、どのような条件下で「ひらめき」が生まれるのか参考になるお話しが豊富にある。
