まず冒頭で「普通の日本人は東京裁判について知る必要はなく、『パル判決書』の
み徹底的に知るべきである」と書く。
　
　そして「パル判事に『パル判決書』を語らせるというように心懸けた」とある。
確かに渡部氏にしてはパル判決書からの引用が多い。とはいえ、渡部氏による不足部
分＆プラスアルファーの解説ももちろん十分にある。最近、パル判決書も読まずに知
ったかぶりでパル批判をする輩がいるなかで、「資料に語らせる」のは迫力がある。

　「司法試験、外交官試験、中央官僚の試験科目に『パル判決書』を入れるのは一策」
だとも渡部氏は書く。あながじ冗談だと笑ってはいられないだろう。独立とした科目
として加えるのが無理ならば、「日本史」もしくは「世界史」の科目において出題す
ることを本気で考えるべきではないか。日本のエリートが東京裁判史観では話になら
ない。

　もちろんパルは日本に同情して被告人全員無罪としたのではない。日本が罪になる
なら当然アメリカもそうなる。しかし現実は違った。法的・歴史的に検討すれば、日
本を無罪にする他なかったのだ。ゆえに、「パル史観」イコール「大東亜戦争肯定論」
ではない。

　個別の戦闘で正しかった、愚かだったという分析はあるだろうが、戦争自体を正しか
った、間違っていたと言っても意味はない。国家や民族の数だけ歴史観があるからだ。
ゆえに、日本人は安心してパル史観を唱えるべきであり、またまっとうな人なら唱えざ
るを得ないのではないか。

学校の先生（特に小学校）に読んでほしい１冊。
理性的に、事実を一つ一つ検証していくと、結論はおのずと定まってくる、ということを本書を通して体験してほしい。
正当な歴史観をもって、子どもたちの教育にあたってほしい。

連載されていたのをこの本書に収録しているので、著者の体験や考えが所々に表れていますね。
どちらかというとエッセイに近い。
