本書では、他の方が書かれている通り、
RPGなどで目にする武器や防具について解説しています。
しかし、このシリーズの別の本と同じく、
このような内容に興味があればあるほど、
物足りなさを感じてしまうと思います。

取り上げている品目は、それなりに充実しています。
ただし、如何せん説明が簡潔に過ぎます。
価格と文庫ということを考えると、
これでも精一杯なのかもしれませんが、
少なくとも、このようなジャンルの別の本を
読んだことのある方には、お勧めできません。

とはいえ、この価格で、この内容は、本当に立派だと思います。
同様のジャンルの本を読んだことがなく、
軽く興味を持っているひとに、お勧めです。
そして、次は別の本を読んでみると、新しい発見があると思います。

非常に興味深いテーマを扱っていて、おもしろい。
書棚に１冊あると退屈しないのが、このシリーズの本だ。
どこかで聞いたことがあるようなモノっばかりが登場するラインナップは、神話好きからゲーマーまで幅広い読者をカバーしている。
そしてなにより、パッと手にとって、サラっと読めるのがいい。
文章は簡潔でわかりやすく、イラストも美しい。要するに、読むだけでなく見て楽しい本だ。

この値段でこのクオリティなら、買ってソンはしないだろう。

神々や英雄が用いた武器や防具が紹介されています。
エクスカリバーやゲイボルグ、グングニル、草薙の剣、イージスの楯などファンタジーモノの有名どころは結構揃ってるんではないかなと。RPGなどをプレイしていればどこかで見たことある名前ばかりです。

また固有名詞ではない一般的な武器（小太刀とかスピアーとか）の解説もあり。

挿絵は今回も綺麗で、お値段もお手ごろ。伝説の武器などの元ネタを知りたいと言う人にはお勧めです。が、比較的初心者向け。
