五月に一挙に六冊文庫化された「心得帖シリーズ」の三作目である。本書はタイトルどおり、企業に身を置き、一社員として働くことの意義を、新入社員、中堅社員、幹部社員に向けて説いたものである。

しかし、読者の中には違和感を持つ人があるだろう。なぜなら、松下幸之助自身は、丁稚奉公と電灯会社に勤めたわずかな期間以外は、常に経営者として社員を遣ってきた立場の人物だからだ。

ところが本書で述べられている、それぞれに経験の異なる“社員としての心構え”の根底にあるのは、松下電器を大きくするための要求ではない。企業で働くことを通して、ビジネスマンとしての、いや人間としての幸せと成功を感得するには、こう考えたらいい、こういう生き方がよいということを説いているのである。

今、若者は働き甲斐を見出せず、中堅・幹部はリストラを恐れている。社員として働くとはどういうことか、いま一度、原点に返って考えてみるのに絶好の一冊である。

松下さんの本というと、松下電器で行われている毎朝の社歌斉唱がイメージされ、今まであまり読んでいませんでした。しかし、植木不等式の「悲しきネクタイ」に本書からの引用があるのに興味を惹かれ読んでみました。

読んでみると、自己の体験に裏打ちされ、平易な言葉で書かれた本書は、現在の自分の姿と重ね合わせて読むことによって非常に効果的だと思いました。

新入社員の方や、来年就職をひかえた学生さんにもおすすめです。
あと、本書に対するお笑い系のツッコミは植木不等式の「悲しきネクタイ」にありますので、そちらもご興味があればどうぞ…

仕事、人生に対して前向きな内容でした。
特に、嫌な上司への接し方や怒られる時、どうしたらいいのかというのが良かったです。
これからは、堂々とした態度で自信を持って仕事ができそうです。

前書きにも書かれている通り、書かれていることは当たり前と言えば当たり前のようなこと。しかし、どの心得もやさしい口調、噛み砕いたことばで説明されており、とても分かりやすい。仕事を続けていると、「何でこの仕事をやってるんだろう？」と疑問に思う時がありますが、そんな時に読んでみると元気が出てくると思います。
