　娘達が「これは面白いから読んで」というので直ぐにその場で読んだ。

　これは童話なのだろうが　どう読んでもブラックな味わいに満ちている。初めのグランマの魔法の話は　スティーブンキングの作品を思わせる怖さすら感じたし、その後の薬の効果の展開も　どう読んでも恐ろしい。ましてや　結末は　児童に読ませる本として　これで良いのかと思ってしまうくらいだ。

　但し　ここで再度考えなくてはならないのは　娘達が　この話を面白がっている点にある。いや　面白いといえば　僕にしても面白いのだ。

　大人になると　モラルが崩れた話を楽しめるわけだが　実は子供たちも十分　そういう　いわば「悪の童話」を楽しめるということなのだと思う。子供が読む本だからといって　いつもそれがハッピーエンドで終わるものであるべきだと考えがちなのは　実は大人の我々だけなのかもしれない。子供にしても　十分ブラックな味わいを味わえる「舌」と「鼻」を持っているのかもしれない。それが本書の読後感であった。

ボクはグランマの命をうばう気はないこらしめてやりたいだけだー読んでいるとそれは嘘でしょと思いながらも、次は何を入れようか!と私はどんどん本の中のボクに同化していきます。
最後に火にかけた時の物質?の科学反応の様子を読んでいると、こちらまで少しやってみたいかもという好奇心が湧き上がって来ます。(あぶない…)
結末は意外でした。けどもしかしたらありえるかもしれません。
あと、グランマはうちのグランマに少し似ています。

良い子でいたいけど、我儘なおバーちゃんに困ってしまう。そこで、何とかしようとたくらんだ結果が、めちゃくちゃなことに。ラストはあっさりしていた、これでいいのか君達家族はぁ、と思いました。
