島田荘司氏推薦！と今年度最大級のどんでん返し！の帯に惹かれて買ってしまいました。
結果から言わせていただくと、途中で何度もやめたいと思ったほどの読みずらさと不可解さ。
おかしいのは、法事ごとに殺人事件が起きるにもかかわらず、捜査本部が設置されずない。警察は単純な
捜査をするだけで、その後は事件を野放しにし、そしてまた殺人の繰り返し。
と思ったら、いきなり登場した探偵が、事件現場から徒歩圏内！にある隠れた洞窟で遺体の一部を発見！。
最後には、あれだけいがみあってた刑事同士、刑事と探偵がいきなりためらいなく和解。全く理解不能です。
ならば、最初から刑事のプライドなんてかざさせないで、名探偵天下一みたいなキャラでも出して面白おかしくしても
らえるなら納得なんですが、この作品は本格推理の新人初長編とのこと。
ネタバレで書けないのが惜しいが、最初の殺人事件のトリックに至っては、そんなんで人が突き刺されて死ぬなんてあ
りえない！（ナイフの件も同じですが）と突っ込んでしまいます。
うがった見方をすると確かに全く予想できない「大どんでん返し」ではありましたが・・・。
長編デビュー作とのことで、今後いい作品を期待することのみに星２つで。

確かにトリックは「え？こんなので？」という感じです。
ですがこの作品はむしろ、背景にある人間関係や因縁など、様々な人の関わりを推理していくのが楽しいのだと思います。

たとえて言えば…うーん、横溝正史に近いかしら？
あそこまでではありませんが、事件そのもの、トリックそのものより、その背景を楽しむ。
リアル感を求める方には物足りないかも知れませんが、「推理小説を楽しむ」という娯楽面からは満足しています。

読み進んでいくうちに完璧にハマりますっ！
久々に『読書の時間が楽しみで待ちきれないっ！』って気持ちを思い出しました。
小島正樹氏の今後に大いなる期待を抱きます。
