3.0 out of 5 stars 「少年売春と情熱と自意識過剰を混ぜると、世界になる。」, 2003/7/19
思わずニヤリの言葉遊び、異なる二つの時間軸のクロス、個性的だがどこにもいそうにない登場人物、お茶目なエロさ。この本にもそんな野田秀樹の魅力がつまっています。

『ゼンダ城の虜』…人工呼吸の森に囲まれたゼンダ城、赤頭巾少年は両性具有の姫を目撃する。そこは「居留守キリスト」の城。　人間はもともと同じ一人の人間ではなかったか？自分は動いていない、世界ばかりが動いているのではないか？そんな問いを投げかける作品。キャラクターが魅力的でテンポがよく、一気に読んでしまう。何より面白い。

『御触れ書き』…４ページのエッセイ。５年前美人だった女性に再会すると、今は…。「美意識が引越しをしてしまった」。著者を取り残して引越しを始める日常世界を描く。エッセイにしては難解??比喩が深く、わかりづらい。

『走れメルス』…「こちら岸」と「向こう岸」で展開する、男女の愛のもつれてドタバタな話。男と女の間に角砂糖のランプをおくと、二人の間が歪んでみえるという「相対・性理論」。男女の「愛」というか「腐れ縁」がわかります。ゼンダ城が子供な作品なら、こちらは大人な作品。しかし、正直わけがわからない作品でした。どこが「走れメロス」のパロディになっているかも、私には複雑すぎてよくわかりません。登場人物もゼンダ城ほど魅力を感じません。

野田作品の特徴は複雑・難解なストーリーです。そこには寓意も含まれています。明解なストーリーを好む方にはきついと思いますが、しかし同時に、ストーリーがわからなくても全く面白いのが野田作品です。これほど言葉を楽し!く遊ぶ作品はありません。

戯曲を読んだことのない方も大丈夫です。ただし元気のある時に読みましょう。
