1.0 out of 5 stars 簡素化しすぎ（カルチャー・センターのおばさまたちには良いかも知れないけれど）, 2002/5/3
「文法事項は基礎的なものにしぼり」という評もあるが、実際には、基礎的なことさえ網羅されていない。動詞の活用形では、単数形は何とか全部載せているようだが、双数形は無視され、複数形は女性形が省かれている。

　不規則動詞を避けているため、アラブ人が普通なら絶対使わないような、変な語彙が混ざっている。例えば「走る」を「ラカダ」という規則変化をする単語で提示しているが、実際にはこんな単語を使うアラブ人はいない。「ジャラー」という弱動詞を使う。

　カルチャー・センターで、気分転換にアラビア語をかじりたい、という程度の人ならこれでも良いのかもしれないが、アラビア語をきちんと学びたい人には絶対におすすめできない。難しくても、他の入門書にチャレンジしていただきたい。

アラビア語は最初のハードルが高く、とっつきにくいので、挫折しがち。この本は、扱っている文法範囲は狭いですが、その分、文法の土台となる部分をじっくり学べて、私にとっては有り難いテキストでした。もっと細かい文法が知りたくなったら、引き続き続巻を使えばよいし、一冊のテキストですべてをマスターしようというのでなければ、私はお勧めします。

文字の大きさも適切で読みやすく、基本単語200（名詞・形容詞）の選び方も適切。特に、動詞活用の説明はとても分かりやすかったです。ＣＤも、細かい音の違いが分かるように丁寧に発音してくれるので、何度も繰り返し聴きました。

難点は、ルビの振り方が独特で慣れるまで時間がかかるのと、文法と会話文が混ざっているため、あとから参照しづらいこと。その分で★を一つ減らしました。

とはいえ、アラビア語のテキストはどれも一長一短があり、その中で、この本はバランスのとれた一冊といえると思います。

初学者向けということで内容はかなり簡略になっている。
ただ簡略にしすぎて逆に理解しづらいのでは？という印象。
アラビア語は元々独習はしにくいけど、この本をもとに独習して習得するのは不可能。
同じ著者の『ステップアップアラビア語』の方が役に立つように思えます。
