実はこの本の中で取材を受けたメーカーの技術者の一人ですが、、福野さんの無限なる興味や視点・推察・考察は本当にすばらしいものでした。
また、単なる評論家とかライターとかでなく、取材を受けた側の技術者としてのモチベーションを高めてくれる方でした。

ごく短時間の取材にもかかわらず、また、実際の開発・製造を行ってはいないのにもかかわらず、極めて論理的に理解をされ、記事にされていることは非常な驚きでした。かなり専門的で一般的には知られていないこともあまりメモも取っておられなかったと思います。が、キチンと記事化されている！そこもすごい！（厳密に言えば・・・微細なことは『ここ違うよなぁ』と言う部分もありますが、それはご本人も言われている通り、ご愛嬌です。）

私が所属する会社以外の記事も恐らく極めて正確、本質を突いていることと思います。

自動車関連会社の人のみならず、少なくともモノづくりをする人間は是非読むことをお勧めします。

弊社にもカーグラフィック誌の取材に見えましたょ！！！　当日の私はお迎えと進行の役（総務）を仰せつかりました。、トヨタ自動車のチーフの方も見えられたので、工場では予行演習2度敢行、当日を迎えました。

福野さんと名刺交換させていただいたときは、正直「派手な感じの方だなぁ！？（失礼）」、いざプレゼンが始まると、予演の時には「スケジュール厳守、管理事項徹底」と言っていた本部長が、一番ノリノリになって持ち時間オーバー！！（苦笑）それくらい熱心にご取材されていました。

福野さんは、ご自分が目立とうというより、取材される側の人間を皆ノセてしまうオーラの方で、打ち上げの抱腹絶倒ムービー上映会（当日密かに撮影！）でも、そこがプロだょなぁー！？と皆、納得していました。

お帰りの前に、弊社の取締役も加わって写真家の荒川さんが記念写真を撮影していただきました。私が「先生が入ってくれないと「絵」にならないから」と、ひつこくお願いして、真ん中に入っていただいた撮影です。嬉しくも、このときの写真をまたのせてくださいました。私もごいっしょさせていただいて、たいへん光栄な思い出です。なにか担当者全員が興奮状態、という大変な一日でした！！

弊社が紹介されているから、というのではなく、こういう記事はいままでなかった視点だと思います。自動車にご興味のある方は、ぜひ「こういう会社もあるんだなぁ」と、ご一読！ください。裏方だって頑張っているのだ！！

CG誌の人気連載のシリーズ3冊目。前書きにもあるように、前シリーズ2冊で完結させるくらいのつもりだったそうで、モチベーションを上げるのに苦労したとの事。しかしながら、今回の再取材を通じて、くるまづくりの奥深さを再認識し、打ち止めにならないように(本当に再度取材が再開されるかどうかは別にして)、連番をあらわす単純なタイトルに変更された。
シリーズ前2冊を順に読み進めた方がベター。又、トヨタの生産方式の概略知識、トヨタの企業文化などの知識があれば、行間が楽しめるし、理解が深まると思う。
