九成宮醴泉銘は楷書の手本として非常に尊重されています。しかし、山西省に残っている石碑は、徹底的に傷んでしまっており、文字にもなんどもノミを入れられたらしく、欧陽ジュンの書を見いだすことは無理です。そこで古い時代にとった拓本を観なければならないのですが、これも17世紀ごろにすでに高価なものだったようですから、現在は美術館ぐらいにしかなく、拓本の良い複製本を探すのが賢明でしょう。
三井文庫には、「九成宮醴泉銘」の旧い拓本が７点もありますが、この李鴻エイ旧蔵本が一番良いと感じました。全体に破損や修理が少なく、文字の線もやや太めで自然な感じがします。他の美術館でも実物の拓本を何点もみましたが、これが一番好きです。精密な写真・カラー原寸で良い複製が出たことを喜んでいます。
