確かにそう書いてありましたね。
著者は職人さん。豊富な経験がバックに有ります。剪定の本は数有れど、ポッと出の若い人が書いてるのが多く説得力が無い。職人さんが書いたのでよく見かけるのが一冊あるのですが、豊富な経験が豊富に羅列されてあって、「この木はこう切ります」とは書いてあるけれど何故其うなのかが分らない。だからその木が載ってなければそこまで（剪定に限らず園芸関連の本は此ういうのが多い）。其の点、本書にはロジックがあります。右も左も分からない者にとつては大変有り難い指針。更に、何故切るのか何故残すのかを考えるという新しい道楽も得られると云ふ寸法。

　装幀はどちらかといえば、地味。カラー写真もないが、挿絵は豊富でわかりやすい。造園業を営み専門学校の講師をしているとのことだが、文章は職人さんの香りが感じられてさわやか。「どんな枝にも切る理由がある。残す理由がある。」と明快。我が家のこぶだらけになったサルスベリを今度は何とかしようと思えてきてしまう。

庭木に触れる機会の少ない一般の方向けの入門書としては
少々難しいと思います。
普段から業務として造園・庭園管理に携わっている人、もしくは
そういった職務に就いてしばらく経った人にとっては
普段の経験から「なるほど」とうなずけることがたくさん
ちりばめられているので、大変参考になると思います。

剪定の仕方は地域によってそれぞれ・・・というより
同じ地域内でも植木屋・管理会社によって異なり、
論理もそれぞれだと思いますが、
私はこの本に書かれている剪定の手法や考え方が好きです。
