この本は、ハマッた後に読むと、ものすごくよく理解が深まる本だと思います。
しかも、ディストリビューションにあまり依存してなく、設定ファイルなども一つ一つ丁寧に解説してあるので、中小規模のシステムを組むのなら、この一冊で大体は対応できると思います。
また、章と章の間に書いてあるコマンドは、無駄なものは一つもないですし、ネットでは検索をかけても出てこないようなことが、さらっと書かれてたりします。
僕の中では、今現在かなり使える本になっています。というか、今バリバリ現役で役に立っています。
その辺の本には、載ってない技術がこの一冊でかなり身についたので、大満足です。

DNサーバ、メールサーバ、Webサーバを実際に組み、非常に参考になりました。
DNSやWebはいつもの通りですが、メールは今までsendmailを使っていたのでpostfixを使うのは初めてだったんですが結構すんなりと設定し、ちゃんと稼働できました。

どのような本を読めば安全なサーバーを構築できるだろうと思い色々探しました。
そこでこの本を見つけ「小規模~中規模のサーバ構築を想定しつつ、大規模構築につながるノウハウを紹介」という一文を見つけこれなら安心できるかなぁと思い購入しました。
中を見てみると設定すべきことが順序よく書かれていてとても見やすいです。
Vine LinuxやFedora CoreといったそのOSに特化した内容ではないので本当の初心者には少々難しいかもしれません。
しかし設定するのはBINDやApacheといったソフト自体なので出来るかと思います。
このレビューを書いているのも始めたばかりの初心者です。
