村上龍氏出演のテレビ東京系の番組の書籍化、第2弾。

第1弾でも感じていたことであるが、村上龍氏の翻訳機能。
「企業経営」というジャンルでこの国でトップを走る人たちの価値観や、判断の基準はいくら伝えようとしたところで、その立場、その場面に立ってみないと、とても実感できるものではないと思う。
その上、登場する社長は現時点で成功した会社のトップであるため、より「結果論」としてのお話になってしまうのは、書籍であれば致し方ないところだろう。

ただ、この番組でホストを務めるのは村上龍氏である。
経済小説でもかなり取材を重ねた詳細な作品を世に出している龍氏だけに、実際に企業を経営している立場と、その立場に対して興味を持つであろう一般人の間を絶妙の切り口でつないでいる。

言語能力という点を加味すれば、龍氏以上にこの番組のこの役割を全うできる人がいるとは考えにくい。

１がとても面白かったので、２も読んでみた。
構成などは変わらないが、登場人物が変わっているので、十分な気付きがあるし、パワーダウンしている感じがしなかった。
中小企業と定義されるサイズの会社のカリスマ経営者や、大企業の雇われ社長、世襲している社長など。
多様な社長が登場するのだが、どの人の言葉も実績がともなっているだけに深みが感じられた。
社長という立場は、こういう風に会社を見ているのかと、疑似体験ができる、楽しい読書だった。

番組が好きなので本も読んでみました。
それまではなんとなく村上龍は不遜な感じがして
好きではなかったけれど、テレビの向こうにいる彼は
なんとなく嘘がない感じがして好感が持てました。

くら寿司の社長、洋麺屋五右衛門などの社長、
TOTO、堀場製作所、ファンケル・・・。
いろいろな社長の話はそれだけで面白いけれど、
他のレビュアの方も言っているように、
村上龍の存在がとても大きい。

彼のフィルタ、彼の視線を通しての社長、企業、仕事・・・。
それがまた魅力的で本もとても面白かった。
一人の社長ごとに2ページほどの村上龍のコラムがあるが、
それがとてもよかった。
オススメです。
