「日経文庫」にはそれなりの敬意（先入観？）を持っている。ビジネスの最先端を扱う新聞社の編集テクニックを、文庫の編集にも活かしているのだろうと思うからだ。

しかるに本書は、残念ながら低い評価の本となった。日経文庫の「ビジュアル」シリーズは、見開きでひとつのテーマというのが基本原則になっているが、本書は見開きでうまくまとめきれていないように感じる。したがって本文も中途半端な印象を受けるし、「ビジュアル」のウリである図解部分が本書とうまく整合していない印象を受けるのだ。加えて図自体も矢印が頻出していてわかりにくいものになっている。

「経理の基本」を述べた本というよりも、「経理用語の簡単な解説」といった位置づけの本になっているように思う。
