カルトナージュは中世ヨーロッパで生まれた手工芸。厚紙をベースに、箱やブックカバー、写真立てなどを作ります。基本作品を、作り方プロセス写真とともに紹介。基本を押さえればバリエーションや応用作品も作れます。


著者略歴 (「BOOK著者紹介情報」より)

北野 三希代
京都市出身。1991~1995年、パリ在住時にL’Encadrement(アンカードルモン/フランス額装)の修得を通してLe Carotonnage(カルトナージュ/厚紙工芸)と出会う。1998年、坂下佐智子さんとアトリエミラボーを設立。この年よりアンカードルモンの作品展を開催し、2000年よりフランス額装講座を開講。2003年より、国内でヨーロッパのプリント紙や革調紙スキバルテックスの購入がしやすくなったため、人気の出てきたカルトナージュ講座を開講。現在、ヴォーグ学園大阪校、NHK文化センター(大阪・京都・名古屋・神戸・福岡)等で開講中。東京・自由が丘でも毎回好評の一日講座を開講中(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

基本的なこと（定規の使い方からのりの配合、使いやすい道具）がはじめてでもわかりやすく解説してあり、とても丁寧な本だと思います。
作品はタイトルにもあるように材料は紙とスキバルテックスです。ヨーロッパのマーブル紙やプリント紙等とスキバルテックスを組み合わせたオシャレな作品が沢山載っています。
布の素材を使った作品は載っていませんので、綿を入れてふっくらさせたりする布の箱が作りたい人は広岡ちはるさんの本のほうがいいかもしれません。（両方あればいいです）
技法については共通の部分が多いので使えると思います。

掲載の作品はどれもとても素敵で、見ているだけでも楽しめます。その上、作り方が写真付きで詳しく説明されているので、初心者の私でも抵抗なく取り組めました。少し時間はかかりましたができた時は感動！でした。
100円ショップに売っているアルバムやファイルなどをリメイクする方法なども載っていて、それもぜひトライしてみたいと思います。

ずっとカルトナージュに興味があって
いつか自分の手で作りたいと思っていました。
他にもカルトナージュの本を数冊持っていますが、
こんなに丁寧に親切に説明してある本は初めてです。
疑問に思っていたこともすべてこの本に載っていました。
ほんとうにわかりやすい！
この本さえあれば、他の手芸とコラボレートさせてオリジナルがいろいろ作れそう！
これからの季節、手放せない1冊になりそうです。
手芸好きのお友達へのプレゼントとしてもいいかも・・・
